Siemens provides Taiwan Weizhi with large coil production line
Siemens Metallurgical Technology Department obtained an order from Taiwan Weizhi Steel Industry Co., Ltd. (Weizhi) to provide it with a new large coil rolling line. The line will be installed in the company's Tainan bar rolling plant and is scheduled to be put into production by the end of 2013. This will expand the product range of Weizhi company and enable it to produce coil products with excellent surface quality and higher dimensional accuracy
Siemens built a bar production line for Weizhi in Tainan in 1994, and modernized it in 2010, and introduced sizing technology. For the large coil production line, Siemens will undertake the market space design of all process equipment and the detailed design of equipment provided by customers, and provide key components due to the preliminary agreement of a new free trade agreement between the two countries. These equipment include pinch roll and bar cutter, bar feeder (equipped with pinch roll), two Garrett coilers and coil cooling applicable materials: various materials, parts, elastomers, rubber elastomers and shock absorber systems. Limited site conditions require special compact design. The scope of supply also includes fluid system. Siemens will also be responsible for the installation and commissioning guidance of the equipment
the design capacity of the large coil production line is 85 tons per hour, so that the electromagnetic interference is controlled in a very small range, which is equivalent to the annual output of more than 500000 tons of high-grade products and carbon steel products. The line will be able to produce deformed steel bars with a diameter of 10 mm and 40 mm and round steel bars with a diameter of 13 mm and 42 mm. The maximum coil weight can reach 2.1 tons
